opelxfrost's Hunter Guide
Hackers at work again, and repost guide is lost again. I'm not the author of this guide, just reposting it. I do not take any credit for this guide. This guide version is as of 24 Sep 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stats note: 5 ACC 80 AGI hunter stats is diff from a 5 ACC 80 AGI sharpshooter. The increament for dodge/dmg/aspd for each point in AGI/ACC or every 5/10 lvl jump special bonus is diff. and yes, u do get a slight boost in stats for every 5/10 of tat stats A sharpshooter with 5 ACC 80 AGI: Quote: dmg = 16 + 80 + = 96 dmg (16 = dmg from acc, 80 = dmg from gun mastery) dodge = 168 aspd = 151 (aspd = attack speed) dps = dmg * aspd/100 = 96 * 151/100 = 144.96 dps A sharpshooter with 80 ACC 5 AGI: Quote: dmg = 256 + 80 = 336 dodge = 72 aspd = 70 (aspd = attack speed) dps = dmg * aspd/100 = 336 * 70/100 = 235.2 dps full AGI vs full ACC dmg difference = 235.2 - 144.96 = 90.24 dps (full ACC dps is 90.24 higher than full AGI) Wow full agi suck dun u agree? but have u forgotten something called weapon? Now lets do some more math again: using lvl 50 gun as a benchmark, average dmg = 200 Full AGI: Quote: dps = dmg * aspd/100 = (96+200) * 151/100 = 446.96 dps Full ACC: Quote: dps = dmg * aspd/100 = (336+200) * 70/100 = 375.2 dps full AGI vs full ACC dmg difference = 446.96 - 375.2 = = 71.72 dps (full AGI dps is 71.72 higher than full ACC) needless to sae, full AGI has a higher dps than full ACC but this is considering u have 100% hit rate and monster def = 0 Now lets take another step further, lets include the mob defense. Since u noe the calculation now, i will just post the chart for dps of AGI vs ACC when monster def applies and with 2 diff weapon, 200 average dmg and 120 average dmg. For highest dmg per sec build: Get ur ACC to 40 first, then all points into AGI till AGI hits 40. Then take turn to add ACC and AGI 5 by 5 till both are maxed. Note: i havent calculated if 40 ACC is the best, i juz felt tat it shld be high enuff and any higher will hurt ur lvling spd after u reach lvl 40. and the boost for lvling spd for having high ACC at start is nt enuff to cover the reduction in lvling spd for lvl 40 onwards. and btw dun bother reading tis note if u dun understand what the chart is actually trying to show u, this will juz make u even more confuse. note:if u dun understand wat all tis chart/calculation is trying to sae, dun bother wif it. juz go straight into the stats written below. For highest dmg per shot build: pure ACC once max, all points into AGI. For hnr build theres two main variation: Variation 1: pure ACC is for ppl who like to move shoot and move some more and shoot. needless to sae, this is for ppl who enjoy clicking the mouse non stop. Non-stop action! (plain waste of energy in my opinion though ;/) Variation 2: The style of hnr tat i wrote at the btm. This hnr differs by moving one time onli and start shooting just outside the mcd (monster chasing distance). For variation 2, go for highest dps build. For variation 1 hnr, if u went for highest dps build, u will be moving while u can shoot. Hence wasting 1 or 2 shots. Whereas in a full ACC build, u have a slower attack speed, since u wun be shooting during tat time, u might as well use the time to move urself out of the monster attack range. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skill Build SKill build = 3 range mastery >] >2 Double Shot > 10 range mastery > 5 Frozen Arrow > save the rest of the points Rousing versus double shot: the additional dmg per min is around 50 to 100 more for rousing. Of course if u decide to get rousing, the 1st 45 lvls will be easy. But according to calculation (which i wun bother to post cuz its another whole chunk of data calculation which nt many would wan to read) the boost of lvling from rousing doesnt outweight the boost of getting headshots 5 lvl earlier. BUT if u r a solo-er which i greatly recommend everyone to play (lvl solo instead of party if u wan to be fast) use tis skill tree below instead: SKill build = 3 range mastery >] > 2 Double Shot > 10 range mastery > 4 WindWalk > 5 Frozen Arrow > save the rest of the points u might be puzzled why am i contradicting myself, i will explain why now. although the lvling spd boost in terms of dps is isnt enuff to cover, but as a solo-er u will be hnr-ing most of the time and to hnr having a lvl 4 ww = easier hnr. basically its impossible for almost anyone to hit and run without getting hit on certain mob if u got lvl 0 windwalk (to make it simple for any DoTa players, u guys shld noe the importance of boots of speed in DoTa right, its the same logic as having windwalk earlier). Rousing 1 lvl would boost ur lvling spd back during the lvl 40 - 47 stage (if u r comparing earlier headshot>windwalk) Note: Never ever run back to town juz to buy ur skill for the 1st 20 lvl only buy it if u died. (time taken for travelling is longer than time saved using skill to lvl) Skill for Sharpshooter party build Quote: 10 Gun Mastery > 5 Cripple > 5 Enfeeble > 10 Headshot[/b > 1 [b]Magma Bullet > 4 Windwalk > 10 rousing > 10 Windwalk to get lvl 1 headshot, u nid lvl 47. Since 40 to 47 is a spree wif gd paper mob like werewolf warrior and scorpion it shldnt be a problem. solo build 9 Gun Mastery > 1 Cripple > 10 Gun Mastery > 5 Cripple > 5 Enfeeble > 10 Headshot[/b > 1 [b]Magma Bullet > 10 rousing > 10 Windwalk wif a solo build u nid lvl 51 to get headshot, doesnt really matter since 48-51 is rather fast on treant. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leveling Path NOTE: This Level Path is for Solo Hunter and is for the build of highest dmg per sec Level 1 - 7 Juz follow thru the starting quest u shld be able to reach lvl 7 within 30 mins Level 7 - 8 Snow Squidy 1120,480 Deep Blue and Snowy Piglet 1120,400 Deep Blue farm 2 empty bottle for the quest and 3 for hunter job change quest later on Snowy Piglet drops empty bottle. Get ur xp to 50% at lvl 8 and go complete quest, u will be able to reach lvl 9 if u took the empty bottle quest and Little Mo quest for killing Snow Squidy. Level 9 - 10 Little Deer 1144,298 Deep Blue Get ur job change quest and get it completed, if Little White Deer is too hard at lvl 9, do it at lvl 10. (1 to 10 takes around 1 hr) Level 10 - 14 Little White Deer 1325,305 Deep Blue Level 14 - 20 Horned Penguin 926,320 Deep Blue 10 - 15 mins per lvl note: Once lvl 20 go ascron to get 2 lvl 20 dmg ring (31k total, 15k+ each ring) or u can get a lvl 15 ring 8k each instead (total 16k) Level 20 - 24 Snowy Snail 683,318 Deep Blue 15 - 20 mins per lvl (1 to 24 takes around 4 hrs) Level 24 - 25 Owlie (1303,2992) (1443,3060) Ascron 30 - 40 mins per lvl Level 24 - 25 Air Porky (1397,2918) Ascron 30 - 40 mins per lvl Level 25 - 30 Rookie Boxeroo (1117,2923) (1032,2931) Ascron Level 25 - 30 Combat Piglet (1455,560) Deep Blue Level 30 - 34 Fragile Snow Doll 912,844 Deep Blue 40 to 50 mins per lvl Level 34 - 40 Ferocious Scorpion 2347,560 Deep Blue (1 - 40 takes around 20 hrs) Level 34 - 47 WereWolf Warrior 2635,570 Deep Blue Level 45 -53 Treant 804,1933 Ascron Level 1 - 20 takes around 3 hrs Level 1 - 30 takes around 9 hrs Level 1 - 40 takes around 20 hrs Level 1 - 50 takes around 40 hrs In order to level fast for solo hunter, hnr (hnr = hit and run) or use mob stuck to lvl in order for ur hunter to fight non stop. Hunter main advantage lies in it's ability to kill non stop. Hunter lvling spd is faster than average and is constant throughout unlike certain class tat level faster after breaking lvl 40 or the 1st 60 lvls. If u wan to level faster this are the rule to follow: 1) dun KS - if u ks, u slow others lvling spd and ur own lvling spd. a bit stupid dun u tink so? 2) dun get hit too often - by nt getting hit, theres no need to sit, hence lvling spd increases. But of course dun run too much, otherwise u will end up spending the time saved running around. Getting hit once in a while is ok. 3) dun bother wif power lvling - its a slower way to lvl solo-ing is usually faster 4) grab the pattern of the mob spawn to avoid walking into their spawn zone when u are hnr-ing (tis is extremely important u can lvl 10 to 30 mins faster per level for the 1st 50 lvls if done correctly) 5) dun party wif any one, its nv worth it partying. Becuz tis game has too low spawn rate. Only at certain lvl like lvl 20 (the lvl 19 shrooms) or lvl 34 (lvl 33 grassland wolf) then its worth partying other than tat NEVER party, it slow down ur lvling spd and ur fren lvling spd. if u wan more explanation with why i insist partying isnt gd for fast lvling i can onli tink of one simple explaination and again onli for DoTa players ;/ --- U dun get 5 heros in one lane do u? its simply becuz its saturated. Spawns doesnt increase in tis game juz becuz u have more ppl in tat area which is why tis screw up party lvling, so wat if u kill fast when theres nth for u to kill? yea shoot air chit chat what else? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Micro-ing If u played ro mage b4, hunter has one useful micro style similar to the ro mage, the vfw (verticle firewall) style if anyone remembered it. Juz stand near a tree/obstacle and start shooting ur target, when they approach u, start moving towards the tree/obstacle and make a sudden turn round the tree/obstacle. certain tree are more thin and they will slowly find their pathing around, tat doesnt really matter on the mob i written on cuz all their hp are real low, there shldnt be a problem wif killing them b4 they engage u if done correctly. creep stucking can be done on range mob too, hunter range > mob range. sp bar same as hp bar = on rousing and blast sp bar lower than hp bar = normal shot hp bar lower than sp bar = double shot by doing this u will maximise ur xp per min gain. Sharpshooter Job Change Quest Quest require u to kill 10 skeleton archer and gather 5 old quiver (old quiver drop from skeleton archer) get to the cords 2207,489 theres 2 spawn in tat area easy to solo and no skeleton warrior nearby u shld get it done within 15 mins. Quest also require 10 Ninja Mole and 5 Broken Ninja Sword get to argent town go to west of mine entrance (exact cords not noted down yet) near the entrance theres 2 ninja spawn but mole miner is around. ninja mole is real paper so shldnt be a problem to kill off one and run back to entrance to sit and heal. Juz dun let more than 2 miner mole wacking u at one time u shld be safe. Things To Note after being sharpshooter - gun has shorter range than bow - there are two kind of gun, one tat reduces aspd but has a higher dmg and another tat doesnt has aspd reduction but lower dmg |
